Question by cykosssven: how do i repair my cd burner and memory card reader on my pc?
auto play wont pop up when i put my memory card in to import pictures from my camera and now when i burn cds (the same ones i always use) they wont play in anything except for the computer. im thinking of restoring my computer but what are the consequences. (will i lose internet explorer 8 and all my newest installations? help any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. im now about to install the new windows service pack.

1) Restoring the computer (system restore) doesn’t fix problems, it restores a backup of your registry.

2) If autoplay doesn’t pop things up, you changed it – just right-click, go to properties, the autoplay tab and set it to what you want.

3) It sounds as if you’re burning files, not audio tracks, and your player can’t play those files.

4) If you reinstall Windows (which is what I think you’re talking about), you lose EVERYTHING. IE8, all your pictures, songs, documents – everything gets erased. It’s a last-ditch attempt when the computer won’t work at all.

Question by Talat: Where can I buy parts for LCD monitors in Australia. I want to repair my LCD monitor?
I am interested in repairing LCD monitors. The thing is that once I have diagnosed the problem, where will I find the spare parts like backlight etc. I live in Sydney, Australia

Most manufacturers will not release parts to individuals, and if they did the price would be unreasonable.

If it’s under warranty use it, if not simply buy a new one

Question by tot: How do I repair or replace a broken toshiba laptop desktop LCD screen?
Some kid accidentally stepped on my toshiba laptop and the LCD screen broke. The laptop turns on properly but I can’t see anything on the completely dark LCD screen. Please could somebody help and tell me how I can fix this problem? Thanks a lot for your anticipated answers.

Call Toshiba customer service and see if you can send it out and have it repaired, but from what I’ve heard, you cannot replace an LCD screen on a laptop, therefore you might have to get a new one. Call Toshiba first and if there’s nothing they can do, then you’re gonna have to get that kid’s parents to pay for your laptop and get a new one.

I contacted my computer’s support (Sony) for my notebook computer’s sound problem and they said it was hardware after multiple troubleshooting. However, they didn’t give me the info regarding what part and such and tried to get me to service my computer with them. I want to buy/repair on my own. What part or type of hardware do I have to purchase? Is it a sound card?

try opening the computer and check weather the cable from motherboard to speaker is not broken or faulty. Then check the speakers…if the cable is ok…check the pins in the cable socket and motherboard…most of the technicians are useless while solving the problems.

Question by : Which photo printer conserves the most ink?
I’m open to any brand except Epson printers. Though they produce great photo images, they are designed to break down after two years. I’ve gone through this twice before with that brand.

Epson printers are not designed to break down. I have one that’s almost 8 years old still going strong. However most people dont understand that inkjet printers need special care. Read http://www.ccs-digital.com/inkjetcare.asp

Incidentally, I know someone whose Canon printer had to be brought in twice for repair within a few months because she kept shutting it off for days at a time. Now she leaves it on and hasnt had a problem in two years.

LCD Monitor Repair is the industry standard ‘top guide’ for LCD repairs of most brands. I’ve been able to successfully troubleshoot a number of LCDs for my clients, with a 95% success rate with Acer, LG, Samsung & Philips monitors. These are the ones I get most often.
