Question by YL: when two monitors are connected to one computer, how to arrange them to work independently?
I have connected an additional monitor to my laptop and can drag desktop icon from primary monitor to the additional monitor. But whenever I open an icon in the additional monitor, for example a word file or Firefox, the result of it will appear in the primary monitor but not the additional one.
My purpose is to let two monitors work on different tasks. Thanks!

yo first have to go into display properties (settings tab) and make sure the extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor box is checked for the second monitor. You should then be able to drag any window you want to over to that screen.
From this point, that application should open on the same monitor everytime (until you move it to the other screen), though this is not true for all applications.
Keep in mind they still have to share processor time. It’s just a monitor not a second computer.

Question by Bryan D: Is it possible for two LCD monitors of the same size and native resolution to each have a different pixel pitc
I have been looking at the LG L206WTQ-BF and L206WTY-BF. They are both 20″ monitors with 1680 x 1050 native resolution. The specs for the WTQ say that it has a pixel pitch of .258mm and the WTY has a pixel pitch of .294mm. It doesnt make sene to me why they would be different.

1680×1050 has 0.258 dot pitch.
Seems like WTY model has wrong specs.

Question by Talat: Where can I buy parts for LCD monitors in Australia. I want to repair my LCD monitor?
I am interested in repairing LCD monitors. The thing is that once I have diagnosed the problem, where will I find the spare parts like backlight etc. I live in Sydney, Australia

Most manufacturers will not release parts to individuals, and if they did the price would be unreasonable.
If it’s under warranty use it, if not simply buy a new one

Question by homokos: Is there anyway we can connect different monitors to one server, and use the server as a PC?
Basically, we would like to get a home server and link different monitors up to it over the network. So we the server would be on the second floor, then monitors would be in different rooms: like the kitchen, living room, parent’s bedroom, basement, etc.
Is there anyway that that could be done?

Not to my knowledge. You could use Terminal services but this would still require another computer if only to use as a dumb terminal. You can hook up 2 monitors easy to any computer that has the adapter to provide it but cable length can be a problem with the monitors depending on what length of cable you need.

Question by xerses: How can I make my old crt monitor work?
I have 3 monitors, the one is LCD which turns off every 5 seconds. And what am I using right now is half dead. It is displayed in 1/2, the bottom is working and the top is not, it only displays black but sometimes it turns to normal.
My 3rd monitor which is the oldest one only works when booting , but it turns off when it is the welcome screen.
I tried to change the display properties into its lowest display size but it still didn’t work? What should I do?
