No. Typically using an add-on video card causes the onboard to disable.

Question by Chooka: How does an Intel G965 Family Chipset relate to other graphics cards?
I’m thinking of buying games off Steam and GFWL. My RAM and processor is fine to play most games (Intel Core 2 duo 2GHz). It’s just my graphics.
When looking at the system requirements, it only mentions Nvidia and Ati Radeon cards. So how does a G965 relate to a Nvidia or Radeon card?
—–
I can play games such as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas with no trouble ( On the lowest setting) and The Sims 3.

Unfortunately (for fortunately depending on how you look at it) Intel only does integrated graphics cards, which are the worst possible for gaming. The G965 won’t stack up well compared to any nVidia or ATI card. Though you will be able to run some games, you can check with http://svc.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/ to see if your system is up to par.

It all depends upon the Motherboard compatability, if your mother board supports Higher RAM and Display(Video) Card, you can definitely upgrade.
You will definitely feel the difference.

It all depends on a few factors. What kind of AMD processor are you looking to get. 2nd, what chipset do you want? 3rd, what size motherboard, mATX or ATX.
If you are looking for a AMD Phenom (quad core) you need a motherboard that supports AM2+ socket.
The chipset is only a factor if you are looking to do multi GPU processing. If you want an Nvidia card, look for an Nvidia chipset. And if you want an ATI card you need an AMD or ATI chipset.
You only want a mATX motherboard if your tower isn’t big enough for an ATX motherboard.
Okay. So, let’s get down to it. You want to game as well I see. For under $ 100 lets break it down to these.
If you want a Phenom CPU but don’t care about multi GPU usage, this one will be good. It’s ATX form factor as well. It also works for Athlon X2 64 dual cores CPUs too.

But if you want multi GPU ability then you should decide Nvidia or ATI. Nvidia for under $ 100, I recommend this. SLI capable.

For an ATI which is CrossFire capable take a look at these.

Good luck finding what you need! And Newegg has a nice search tool to also help you find what you want.

Question by Testosterone Drone: What is the best Low Profile AGP video card?

He has a Gateway E-4100 might I add.

the best low profile AGP card i’ve found is the ATI HD 4350 512MB but it’s pretty expensive. it will run with a 250W psu (Newegg exaggerate the psu wattages).

Question by Chris: How come AMD have lower prices compared to Intel or Nvidia?
For example the core i7 920 is more expensive than the top end processors of AMD which is the AMD Phenom II X4 965 and cost only about $ 200 whereas the i7 920 cost about $ 280. AMD base motherboards are also a lot more cheaper than Intel base motherboards and ATI also has lower price in GPU than Nvidia GPU.
Are intel processors overpriced?

Intel is like the Nike and AMD the reebok. There will be no noticeable difference to you. Of course there is always debate. People will tell you different things but intel is just generally considered to be better although in my mind I would go with AMD to save money.
