It’ll be able to run most of the games out there. The processor is a good one, it’s got 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a good 7200RPM hard drive, and a decent graphics card.

My only concern would be price. Dell is likely ripping you off majorly on the RAM upgrade, whether they would be willing to admit it or not. You’ve got decent RAM in the laptop, but you can buy your memory in there for less than $ 60, so keep that in mind when customizing the laptop to 4GB.

Question by : alright, now it is between these 2 laptops, i need help deciding.?
Even though everyone thought that the HP was the best (even though the Dell is), the HP is NOT eligible for the free upgrade to Windows 7. This website (http://www.hp.com/united-states/consumer/windows7-upgrade/eligmodels.html) does not show that the HP HDX 16 is eligible.

Anyways, now it is between the Dell and the Toshiba. It is no doubt that the Dell is better than the Toshiba, but that does not let down that the Toshiba is a very good computer. If you did not see my last question, here is the link to the toshiba.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834114653

Also, here are the specs for the Dell

WIRELESS CARDSIntel® 5100 WLAN Wireless-N (1×2) Half Mini Card
SOUND OPTIONSHigh Definition Audio 2.0
BLUETOOTHDell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Module (2.1+EDR)

There are some things that i would like to point out about the Dell that you might have missed. For example, the Dell has DDR3 RAM, not DDR2. Also, the Dell has a very nice screen (1920X1080) and a faster hard drive.

Also, the Toshiba’s base price of $ 800 is inaccurate. I would need to get a 3 year warranty (which is $ 270) to include accidental damage. If i get a 2 year warranty, I would keep it under the $ 1000 dollars mark (2 years of accidental damage is $ 170).

So the prices to match up would be the Dell is between $ 1,277 and $ 1,303. The Toshiba would probably land around $ 1,070 with a 3 year deal, and $ 970 with a 2 year deal. Now what I want to know is which laptop i should go out and get? And before you tell me, yes i know the Dell is better, I’m just curious to wonder, maybe the Toshiba gives me more for my money.

Also, please let me know if the Toshiba actially DOES NOT include the free upgrade to windows 7.

I need an answer ASAP since this is my last day for research and i think that i will be placing my order in either today or tomorrow. And the dell is a special offer which ends tomorrow.

Thank you

Good place to start for a laptop.

Additions:
None, though I was hoping there was a bigger video card (512MB).

Not needed:
Any reason you are paying the extra $ 75 for the 2M over the 2.0MP webcam?

Down the road you may want to look at getting an external Hard Drive.

Would be about $ 2000 Including 4 year warranty and accident protection.
Yeah I know it can’t use the other 1GB of RAM and it’d be cheaper to add it myself, but with Dell to get the 256MB 8600 GT, I have to get the 4GB included =/

Best answer:

Answer by Jeff C
That motherboard won’t fit in that case. The motherboard is Mini-ITX and the case is ATX. The CD drive will fit in any case with a CD drive slot, which that one does. You should talk with someone that has built a computer before (not someone that claims to know how to build a computer) and get their help. There’s nothing worse than getting all your parts and realizing that they’re not compatible.

Thats a great laptop, but not cheap.
If all you are going to do is gaming, then you’ll be better off with a desktop that has the same specs or better for 1/3rd the price.
