What is a good AGP video card with DDR 1 memory? I’m thinking of buying geforce 5500 fx 256 Mb (128 bit) , but sadly, It wasn’t for high-end gaming purpose. What can you suggest?

the best AGP video card available is ATI radeon 3870HD but if you want high end GPU then u gotta change your motherboard

the best low profile AGP card i’ve found is the ATI HD 4350 512MB but it’s pretty expensive. it will run with a 250W psu (Newegg exaggerate the psu wattages).

i need a new agp video card for my computer but don’t know what to get. is a 128mb card better and faster than the 256mb? i recently had a 256mb and my games were going pretty slow. which one is better and where can i get one?

no the higher the number the more memory its not always fast its the clock speed you need to look at but just to but your answer simply no 256 is better then 128. if you are looking for a new agp graphics card find one with (512mb) of ram and (agp 8x) hope this helps

I have a computer with an AGP video card that works fine. However, if I insert a PCI video card the screen is just blank and nothing happens. Could this be due to the motherboard only accepting the AGP video card and nothing else? The computer is about 7-8 years old….
I’m trying to replace the AGP card (very old) with the PCI card. I don’t want to use them both at the same time…..just the PCI, but it just gives me a blank screen…..could it be possibly something in BIOS??

Not both…because there would be conflict…AGP is faster format, why would you use PCI. Unless you meant PCI-Express…then that’s another matter.

AGP is old tech, they don’t make it anymore. You’re not going to get one that plays new games. You need a new motherboard with a PCI-Express slot.

the power supply itself doesnt connect to the card, the card goes into an apg slot that runs of power generated by the power supply. If you are wondering if the supply is large enough to power the card then please state what card you have.

Alright. I have quite an old computer, and I need a new video card. I was browsing around when I found a NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT, which I was getting ready to purchase. Much to my dismay, my computer does not have a PCI slot. So my question is, does anyone know of a card that is AGP compatible, and can produce the same amount (if not more) of power?

AGP is now obsolete. All of the newer, more powerful cards are PCI x16.

it’s not your choise to choose the graphics card .
it’s your systems requirement which graphics car want motherboard.
agp is an old technology and it run on old mother board
pci exprees are run on new motherboard.
so which kind of mother board you have?

Ok so I realize I can go online and get a AGP video card but I don’t want to wait. I’ve went to Best Buy, Circuit City, Walmart, Radio Shack none of them have AGP video cards just PCI. Do you know of any other chain stores I could try I live in New Jersey if it helps.
